I think childhood memories are the best ones to keep, when our young minds didnt cloud things. My earliest gardening memories are of being taken by my dad to his allotment on a Saturday mornings to collect any vegetables that were ready.

Thays a lovely blog Dotty some lovely memories for you,I love to hear old stories,my mum says i shud have been born in 1934 instead of 54 Oooops....giving away my age Lol. mum said it was very hard in them days to bring up a family.I remember been sent ou to the fields to pick mushrooms,with my 3 sisters we had them fried for tea

I agree with you - I lost my Dad when I was 18 but I remember the little veggie patch down the bottom of the garden and the first time he dug potatoes well you would have thought he'd found gold! The only thing I wouldnt let him grow was Dahlias - he came in once with a bunch for my Mum - put them on the side in the kitchen and all these earwigs came out - I screamed so much he promised never to grow them again!!! (I still dont like the *******'s!!!)
