Verbascum thapsis

A biennial these are lovely first season plants...they remain this rosette of gray-green furred leaves next season they will send up the seed heads that sometimes branch like giant saguaro six to eight feet tall. Garden candelarbra. the favourite of chickadees.

Well, Mike, I am 'hoist on my own petard' as they say....these two are now close to six feet and still growing, and I was sure they were first year plants.....lovely yellow flower spikes and the birds are lining up!!lol.
