Dahlia 1st Aug..09

I love this lemony-lime colour, it's almost translucent. You do grow some wonderful dahlias, Motinot. I just can't manage to grow them, I think I must be a bit negligent when it comes to feeding and soil prep, I know they're greedy blighters!
I have this fantasy of an autumn plot with huge dahlias all properly staked, fed, and watered, growing in a row, like a cutting-garden.

Ohh, wonderful idea Bscott.....I have lots of Dahlias, but they are just mixed through the borders...great for late in the season...they need plenty of water during summer and autumn and here in Northern Ireland we have plenty of rain....I would have thought you could grow them ok...plenty of good muck in the planting hole and some sun...and thats it......
