It surprises me where strawberries grow and they seem to be quite easy.

I know some commercial growers in the Wisbech area grow them in shelves made from rain getturing. There are also some folk who grow them in hanging baskets. I even had some given to me last year that were in a babies bath! Some trailers from that container, spread themselve out and rooted amongst the gravel and there is a membrane under the stones.

I don't know what this new variety taste like, but hopefully, we'll find out in June/July

I wondered what type of compost you use for your strawberries ?

Hi Carolyn

The compost in the strawberry pot is just bog standard multi compost with Miricle Grow and Water Gel crystals. I will be removing about the top couplle of inches and replacing with compost from my bins, as I will be doing to all my containers soon, or when I can work for more than a couple of minutes without running out of breath. :-)
