Penstemon Huskers Red

Further to my comment on Drc726s' Penstemon , here is a picture of my Huskers Red, which is just about to bloom.
A great Penstemon in my opinion, it features a really messy and not particularly attractive basal growth of green leaves from which comes the upright maroon flowering stems.
Despite remaining green throughout the depths of the last winter, I wasn't expecting too much from it this year, yet last night I counted 25 flower stalks.
