Bearing in mind I have only had mine a year Sheilar. When they do need dividing which is usually every 2-3 years, to keep the plants vigorous. I plan to: Dig the plant up and cut the root mass into 3-4 pieces and then plant the divisions with the crown at the soil level.
If you go to Jonathan's questions he asked this spring about older ones that had grown into 3 parts you might find that of interest to you?

Cheers Denise - I'll have a read. As I said, I'm not doing it just yet as they're flowering - I've already got new homes for two of them (I WAS gonna keep them all myself),

I had one of these in a pot Denise - there are now three or four. How do I separate them out (not at the moment 'cos they're all flowering). Is it OK to separate them, they're quite 'woody' at the base.
