Do not think we have no winter in Belgium this year and before.

We had icicles hanging from our gutters this year too Erkabobby. First time we have seen that. Our next door neighbour who only built their house 2 years ago lost all their gutters and down pipes because of the weight of snow behind the frozen gutters. If we keep getting winters like this I think we may need to put up snow boards as they do in Germany.

Indeed Scotsgran. I only added this photo to prouve that we had also bad winters in Belgium.
And dispite the low temperatures, the alstroemerias do it very well in my greenhouses thanks to my special care.
I have the intention to show how to do it in winter-time
with my photos.

The icicles make a pretty picture and your alstroemeria are doing very well. It is good to see good practise from other gardeners. That way we all learn more.
