I always plant mine in large Pots, in Acid Soil Twiggy. I can see they
are your favourite Gazz, as you have quite a few in your Garden.
You have good taste Gazz, especially with this 1.....

Thanks for your comments, yeh acers can be hard to bring on the key is to find the right spot for them if there not doing well in one spot then dont be scared to move it they are very hardy as freesiaperson says thet do like the soil to be on the acidic side but given time I have found them to quite adaptable. what you sometimes find is that you buy a small acer and put it a pot or into the garden and within a few months the leaves have turned brown and end up falling off, if this happins then dont worry keep them damp and leave them be 9 times out of 10 they will come back the following year.
Freesiaperson: Yes thats a gum tree although it's now very large indeed I would say that it's about the same hight of the house now and it's only 8 years old!!!.... my advice is to top it when it gets to your required hight bacause they can put on as much as a meters growth in a year!!

I really like Acers but haven't managed to keep one alive yet! They're so expensive to buy as well which has put me off trying again :))
