Calanthe reflexa - A gamble with an Orchid

I risked about twenty Pounds plus postage by trying to grow this Japanese Ground Orchid in a pot on the windowsill and it has yielded this delightful success. A close-up shot of a single blossom shows a bee's-eye view of a tender trap - every comfort provided; a handy platform to sit on, sweet nectar to sip, a heady perfume to beguile the senses; all surrounded by a frame of gentle pastel blues - heaven-sent. What bee or human could resist any of this. I can't.
