This is Epipactis helleborine. According to a trusted site this little orchid was imported from Europe in the 1890's to Syracuse, N.Y.State. It is growing unheralded in my little stream valley...a few hundred Kms. north, in Ontario. the little flowers look poised to take a bite out of something!

Thanks Jane...I was excited to find it. Can't decide if the little guys are about to bite something or if they are sharing a good joke!

Orchidae is such a large specie...they are so amazing. My research told me that this little orchid came from Europe, and nothing more...suppose we have a Greek orchid blooming here, Bik?
