A garden flower photo

We were too late making the raised beds to grow anything worthwhile this year. We were even late with the kidney beans... Next year!!!

You're so organised.
I think I need a tidy up in my yard after looking at this, shame on me !

My husband has been after raised beds for ages. We've had to dig out loads of soil around them but it was worth it. I'm hoping they will be much easier to plant up and keep tidy next year. Watching the gardening programmes, they seem to be the 'thing' at the moment don't they

Not organised at all. We have ideas but then it takes ages for us to get moving with them, hence nothing much growing in the veggie beds!

Yours looks more productive than mine!
I have sown beetroot, carrots, swede, brussels, cabbage, cauliflower and lettuce but something has eaten them before they have produced their first true leaves. The beans have been a bit more successful but they look moth-eaten too. I would have liked to have the greenhouse ready in time to get the vegetables to an adequate size before transplanting them, but next year that will be possible.

My husband is in charge of the veggie beds and greenhouse so no credit to me really. I just got us sorted making the raised beds.
Radishes have done really well but we don't eat many of those..typical. we've grown most things in the greenhouse first, like you say, it gives them a good start. We've got carrots, spring onions, beetroot, we're trying leeks, and sugar snap peas, broccolli, cabbage and lettuce, the cut and come again variety in the beds now but were late planting everything. We begged some kidney bean plants off a friend and they've got flowers on.
I'll have to take a photo :-)
We've just picked our first cucumber of the year today from out the greenhouse! I love fresh salad out the garden.
Someone gave us a good idea for planting spring onions. You start about 6 seeds at a time in those little plug trays, then plant the plugs in the garden when big enough. Then when ready, you just have to pull a little bunch out and there's just enough for a salad!!

Look forward to seeing your kidney beans, I haven't tried growing those.
I shall try your hint for spring onions, it is so sensible.
