Does rocket grow tall as the name suggests?

It grows to around 6' so has not quite reached that yet. I have had it a long time and I am a bit precious about my shrubs so I do tend to try and take care of them. It likes ericaceous soil and the soil here was a mixture of peat, old lime mortar, sand from an old building and the original soil. It always has lots of flowers.

It's lovely Shirley. Rhododendrons do so well in Scotland don't they? I used to have quite a few in my old garden and they were always stunning, except for a dark purple one..think it was purple prince...it died...no idea why...just got really straggly and gave up. My husband loves them too, and because we used to live in the west end of Dundee we were very handy for Glendoick. I love that Garden Centre/Nursery. I have had some beautiful plants from there, but too far now unless I am heading that way for something else and have time to call in.....it's about the only thing I miss about living in town!

I love Glendoick too. I have been to their open days several times and it is heavenly walking through their shady woodlands. I was lucky enough to meet the owner and he was so lovely and helpful to someone who was just feeling my way with a new large garden. The water tumbling down hill transports you to a new world. Their mecanopsis were so big and their Cardiocrinum Giganteum were out of this world. I see they have a new viewing platform so hopefully it will be dry on Sunday 16th May when the garden is open for SGS. It was open for SGS on 2nd too. These are the only days when the Cox family are on hand to talk to visitors althought they open Mon -Fri from 5th April - 11th June. We will not make it this year we are too busy.

thanks Shirley. I'll put that in my diary. I've been twice and as you say...like being in the garden of eden or somewhere in the himalayas! I also heard that they are a nice bunch of people from a friend who knows them. He's often around the GC but I've never spoken to him before....too shy! ;)
