sorry ian, I thought its name was there. its Eucomis bicolor [commonly called a pineapple lily]. I planted them about 4yrs ago and they disappear in Nov and poke their noses out in mid May. every year i think i have lost them and then they re appear.

I'm a bit sore from all my digging the other day but I hope it will be worth it next summer. How are you?

im not to bad today, well always not to bad in morning, but gets worse as day goes on ian, so will pop along to carboot sale and also get a few winter bedding plants, then that me for today, hope you soon feel back to normal, no digging today :o))

they are a bulb and i got mine from Morrisons. they were 3 for 99p when i got them but as i said that was 4 yrs ago. they are not too expensive. the flower spike is about 10" long. the leaves are broad and tend to lie flat against the ground 2" wide by 6-10" long.
