I havent done anything to this batch....they have been here for about 4 years....no mulch...no feed...no anything....:>)

I love Rudbekia; they provide such a splash of colour at the end of the summer. Great photo. About vegetables I have no advise as cannot get into them either. Most successful have been runner beans; but most of my care is for the flowers. Snap!

I know what you mean Roseberry....Then the kind folk on this site advise growing veg in pots, if only they saw the number of pots of flowers i already have, though this year i did grow, peas, spring onion, lettuce and some carrots...my brother grows all sorts of veg and pots-up lovely beetroot in a honey/vinegar, its gorgeous, so thought i might try beetroot and perhaps potatoes....we'll see......:>)
