had to chop out multi-blue clematis from front arch, (wilt) and had to cut back Duchesse of Edinburgh also, wind damaged.

Sooooo annoying!! They will come back next year though....:S blooming clematis....grrrr!!

The multi blue has a shoot growing, and last week I had to cut down Elizabeth off the kitchen border, she was completely gone think wilt got her, but she has a shoot also coming from the bottom, thank goodness, was going to put a rose in but will give it another chance it was a shame because she was covering the fencing.

Never heard of a montana getting wilt before....weird. Not drought?

No because I have kept watering this year, but the other thing I wondered was when it snowed and was icy we put salt down that could have got at its roots but it was going ok and then suddenly just faded away, even had flowers on it, maybe something damaged its main stem, it was very woody.

that`s a shame..i`ve had quite a bit of wind damage too..the joys of gardening !
