Native tree but a heavy flowering cultivar.

Kate that tree is capable of surviving I think well north to the border of Canada. It's not tropical but is a remnant of a time when California was warmer a million years ago or so.

Looks just amazing, Stan! What a wonderful specimen. It has a smashing form to it and those flowers!!!!
