For Shirley...this is as big as it's got after more than 4 years. Only 3' tall max. and a spread of about 2'6".

Good luck with your digging, Shirley - don't forget that I had even better results with systemic weedkiller when up came the bloomin' things yet again, even after I thought I'd dug out all the roots in one area. I so rarely use weedkiller in my garden that it was my last resort - I couldn't take out the obelisk on which I have an established climbing rose and two Clematis plants - the new Jap. Anemone shoots appeared right under the obelisk! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Spritz, did you ever manage to 'name' this variety ? I've put off digging out my invasive type until now, next week will see me digging down to Australia !

I've checked it out, and the concensus is that it's 'Queen Charlotte'. It's still in flower, by the way! :-))

Thanks for this photo, Spritz, this variety I could tolerate, more than the single variety I currently am trying to eradicate ! When the ground is not so dry I shall dig down further.
