If you don't like bright yellow (and there can be a lot of it in the spring), this anemone is a softer colour. Only a few inches, tall, it likes a humus-rich soil in part shade.

DD - I always have bare soil at this time of year. Plus this is in the new bulb garden. Spent the afternoon putting some more plants in it (that flower later in the year).
