Small scrambling climber (no more than two or three feet in height) for a moist but not waterlogged soil in part shade. As if that wasn't difficult enough, slugs and snails love it!

Thanks Andrew, I do want to collect seed from mine so maybe I'll take of the ripe pods and dry them in a container, see if seeds come out.

I think my Codonopsis, looking like this,is mollis. Never found any seed, despite having grown from RHS seed years ago, maybe its like dust, i can remember. Molluscs dont touch mine.
