these were crocus 'Pickwick' planted in the grass.

I heard vacuum cleaner fluff repels the squirrels. Spread it around your other bulbs if it's not too late.

wouldn't have enough fluff and to be honest the few bulbs they do spoil I can put up with. They are 'rats with furry tails' but cute as anything haha. Special bulbs are protected by chicken wire under the soil. couldn't do that in the grass though.

I always think Squirels must be the culprits digging up my crocus bulbs, but have only seen one in the 40 years we have been here, although they are in the recreation ground, 2 plots distance.

mine actually dig in full view and stare at me until I'm about 10 ft away then they scamper up the tree.

I still reckon rats are the culprit in my garden, but we 3 adjacent neighbours have got the numbers down this summer.
