By Andrewr

Dichelostemma ida-maia - 2011 (Dichelostemma ida-maia)

Perennial, up to a foot tall, growing from a corm. Requires full sun and a well-drained soil plus a hot, dry period after flowering to ripen the corm for next year's display

Meanie - I planted this last autumn, so if it can survive the past winter, I think it must be pretty hardy

this is really unusual - love it! did you buy the corm from a specialist nursery? don't think I've seen these in the garden centre :-)

Jeanette - yes, they came from Pottertons, a specialist nursery (www.pottertons.co.uk)
