Escallonia  (Escallonia "apple blossom")

Masses of apple blossom pink, tubular flowers from June to September, among small dark green leaves.
Semi hardy. Needs winter protection in colder areas.
Planted on my vertical hill at the back.
Eventual height 2.5m x spread 2.5m.
Full sun.

Thanks Karen, yes, sorry, just edited it! It seems to being doing ok. I planted it up there a couple of years ago.

I have the big white one 'Iveyii' and a dwarfing one with big pink flowers, but Apple Blossom is the prettiest I think. :)

Same here Julia. Alliums and Lupins on the ground, roses snapped, geraniums smashed. Theres only one thing to help...large glass of wine!!

The weather has definitely destroyed a lot in the garden, broken stems, branches and obliterated flowers. Horrible.

Hi Kate, I have this 1, and have found it a lot hardier than what the r h s say, mine got knocked back a bit by the ''beast from the east'' but is full of blossom again this year, Derek.
