Gunnera manicata (Gunnera manicata (Gunnera))

Paul. Here's my Gunnera. As i said,a bit behind yours. The pot is 2 feet in diameter.Drainage is restricted but not blocked so the compost is always moist but not waterlogged.

The base was lined with capillary matting, topped with a thick layer of well rotted manure mixed with water retaining gel.All designed to hold water at the roots without drowning it.I'm going to give it a good feed of fish, blood and bone to hopefully give it a kick start, then mulch with composted bark.Fingers crossed.

pretty much what I did - jelly stuff for holding water - my own rotting stuff and compost , bonemeal and ericaceous compost - I just cut bottom out of tub - and few holes in side which is buried so water gets out or in - they should be okay for us both - providing hosepipe ban doesn't come in :):):)
