The buds of 'Winter Moonbeam' are rosy-pink and the reverse of the flower is, too. :-))

This is a lovely one, it gave me a lot of pleasure in my old garden. I hope the new owner likes it!

They should think themselves very lucky to inherit all your gorgeous plants!

22 Jan, 2014

yes, I agree! But I'm sure he really liked the garden.

22 Jan, 2014

Is he a gardener?

23 Jan, 2014

no, and he's offshore for five weeks out of every 10! So it's just as well I left it fairly low maintenance eh?!

23 Jan, 2014

Yes - but you wouldn't want to go back, would you?

24 Jan, 2014

no chance....well, I wouldn't mind 'rescuing that lovely Hosta Big Daddy I left there...I so wish I'd brought that now! But never mind, they are easy to find. Actually I drove past yesterday en route to a friend. It looks exactly as I left it at the front....just a different car in the drive...but no signs of occupation...he must be working.

Ours has been bitten to pieces, it has to be those tiny slugs, because I cannot see any snails around, although we have put slug pellets down..
So I will admire yours Spritz instead, a beauty to be sure.

Sounds like you're really under the kosh with something A. Could it be earwigs do you think? I do hope not, they are awfully hard to control. :(

I flipping hope not Karen, would it be vine weevil? as something is eating big holes in our Photinia Little Red Robin.........

26 Jan, 2014

Oh, now the Photinias do get attacked by something...I can't remember what it is, but don't worry, you can cut it back in the spring and it will be fine I think :) Just looked it up...

Aphids
Bark beetles
Black vine weevil and other weevils
Flatheaded borers
Fuller rose beetle
Thrips
Greenhouse thrips
True bugs
Lace bugs

So yeah, it could be weevils :(

OMG Karen........think I shall take up embroidery lol

26 Jan, 2014

I know....but it will be fine.....honest! :))

26 Jan, 2014

Dowse it with vine weevil killer, Dd, and keep your fingers crossed.

27 Jan, 2014

OH has taken it out and inspected it, but can find nothing to indicate vws, mind you I wonder if he had his glasses on lol will dowse it as you suggest Spritz....
