Morning Glory in blue (Ipomoea purpurea (Morning glory))

A blue variety (Heavenly Blue) Just as nice as the pinks, though this was taken towards the end of the season when they started thinning out a little.

I've tried to grow this from seed before with no luck at all, which is frustrating because it grows in the wild over hedges. Any tips for success very gratefully received :-)

I totally struggled myself last year after a few years of very successful plantings. But last year, I got nothing but a few bendy branches.. Use a good compost and after soaking your seeds in warm water for a day or so, plant them just about half an inch deep. Keep away from frosts and keep warm until they are established. Grow more than you need in case you lose a few. Bit of support using canes/trellis/netting etc and don't over water. Over watering gives you more leaves than flowers. Although the leaves are lovely being a nice heart shape, its actually the flowers you are after :) I like to use luke warm water to water them with until they are well established and you plant them out.. in full glorious sunshine if possible. Good luck!

I've always found that Heavenly Blue is the shyest bloomer. Which is a shame as it's my favourite!
