just seen one of these in the garden centre ~ £40 ~ is that a reasonable price? it is about 9 ft tall???

Hi Sticki I paid about £9 for this about 7 years ago, it was from Ashwoods in the shrub section, it is a compact variety called 'Stella' and is about 8ft tall now, but i do think it has been quite slow growing, but that could just be me! :^) I did also trim the lower branches off it after a couple of seasons but after i did this i saw on a programme that it is best to leave them on, but i suppose that would be personal choice. (it would then look more like a shrub i expect) there is a couple listed on Ashwoods website but no price.

Me again, they have one on crocus for £25.00 but I think they can grow quite big and i have googled it and found 'Stella' for £32.00 and of course there is a few coming up down the side of this page!! :^) I suppose if you add the postage and packing and take into account the size, then £40 may not be too unreasonable.
