I might have this one also, it has not flowered in 12 years, so last year moved it and lifted it up, apparently they do not like to be buried too deep, and I can see one weedy looking bud lol

Hi Sheila, just looked at your photo, it does look very much like mine, so that's what I'll call it, lol, it was already in the garden when I moved here with my parents 53 years ago on sunday, I have a few clumps scattered about the garden, all from the original plant, and I've given away loads, it's a really tough plant, and whenever I've moved it, I discover later that I've left a piece of the tuber, which shoots up again, thanks for the information, glad someone knows, Derek.
Ps, I only cover the tubers on mine with about half an inch of soil, so they get baked in summer[ what's that], and frozen in winter, Derek.

Hi Sheila, you're lucky to get a month, I usually manage about a fortnight before the wind destroys them, it was the same with a huge flowering cherry, that I had to take down when I got my new greenhouse, as it would have been too dangerous to leave it, every year just as it got covered in bloom, the wind arrived, gone!!, Derek.

Hi Sheila, I have 1 that I think is the same colour as this, is it a really rich red? double flowered?, but the buds on mine aren't as well developed as yours, but my garden is very exposed, don't know the variety though, Derek.
