I'm not sure what I'm going to do with six seedlings of this species peony! They were sown in January last year but did not germinate until this February. Now growing on happily in my greenhouse

3d - my garden is very heavily planted so I would not have room for the idea you suggest. I have a space earmarked for one of these, but the others will need to be "rehomed"

That is such a shame Andrew if I knew my coming fate with all the new changes with housing benefit and pensions I would offer a home to one. I ve already declined two offers from Seaburngirl on other plants until I know what happens.
I normally have my tree peony seeds collected and give them to a charity in a little town where I shop in Bedworth it has disabled people plant the seeds and do cuttings and sell them to the public to go towards the up keep for the disabled going. It's in a section of Bedworth park they help in the cafe there too. So I am unsure if you have any thing by you like this that could welcome one or two if no one offers a home for them.

Thats wonderful a good idea I am not on face book and never have been nor wish to be . My sister and I use to raise money for the hospital here for the nurses years ago by doing fortune telling and numerology which started over a CB when I became good friends with the man who owned Jaguar the car company. I ve also have crochet ladies winter cowls for Marianne Hospice shop to sell also men s scarves for the homeless via the Salvation Army shop.

I have been opeing the garden for many years for charity - mainly via the National Gardens Scheme (Yellow Book), but also for the British Red Cross and Thames Valley Air Ambulance

That's brilliant Andrew all worthy causes so you think like us then share help where you can between different charities not just one.

I mix all mine in with my roses Andrew just a thought. In one bed I have a line of roses in front of the roses I have two types I also have a couple of peony s between spaces at the back of the roses by the fence at an angle .
I once seen a bed of different Peonys all together in a scene in Midsummer murders TV program which looked fantastic.
