What a beauty how tall does this grow please

3d - it depends on the pruning regime. The recommendation is to coppice it hard each spring, it will then make about six feet of growth in a season. If you don't cut it down, it will get larger, but eventually get very congested.

So that's where we went wrong, should have been more brutal!! Can it be pruned after flowering Andrew?

But then you won't get the self sown seedlings or autumn colour. I cut it down as part of the tidy-up in early spring, but you could do it any time after leaf fall.
