First time I have seen flowers on this plant. The scented chocolate red scented flowers are tiny. The seeds will self sow around the plant or you can collect them and plant immediately.

I think I might have missed them if it was not that I was trying to find the source of a honey like scent. I did not realise that it would flower. It does have a beautiful leaf which is why I bought it.

I have the Pittosporum undulatum (which makes great firewood) and Pittosporum tobira, and they have small white flowers that scent the whole area. I walk outside, breath in and think that the Faia (Portuguese name) are in bloom - no need to see the flowers.

Wylie I do not think I have seen an advert for pittosporum that makes scented flowers an important part of the description. I wonder if they may need a hot summer like we had last year to kick start flowering or is it age related? I also grow Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Tom Thumb' it is not a reliable flowerer.

Every year they flower and scent the air. The type I have are native to the Sydney, Australia area. This year I bought Pittosporum tenuifloium 'Elizabeth' from a UK company on E-Bay, and it is growing fine, but I'm waiting to see what it does.

Even if 'Elizabeth' does not flower the leaves are very pretty.

I was amazed when I first saw the tiny flowers on a couple of my Pittosporums ... so very small!
