This New Zealand tree has a reputation for being slightly tender. Here it is, eleven years after planting - it must be fifteen feet tall now, having survived the cold winter of 2010/11 and last year's Beast from the East. I think it may just be starting to think about growing some adult foliage now

Love the slender shape to it must be climatising to our weather here. Do you protect the root tgrough winter ?
