Inspired by Delonix1's comment, I took it indoors over winter for the first time and it survived!

I think so. I gave some seeds to my friend who lives near me in Norfolk this spring and all the seeds germinated and they grew well too. I didn't check if they had flowers/seeds. I'll ask her one day.
They love to be in a sunny spot. The colour of the leaves tends to be green-ish rather than on the red side when you plant them in a shady spot
