spotted this in the nursery today and had to bring it home...have you ever seen a leaf like this? Wonderful isn't it. The nurseryman said he'd never seen it for sale anywhere ever until he found this, and he said it's been out all winter and survived unscathed....great find! It has double white flowers, April-May, so sadly I missed that.

That's very unusual Karen, I like it!

I know, isn't it amazing? I love it! Can never resist anything a bit unusual. If we had rare plant fairs up here, like they do in the South, I would definitely have bankrupted OH by now!!

Yes Aileen, there is Evergreen at S.Kingennie, Ashbrook at Condor and Silverwells at the other end of Arbroath. Dobbies at Monifieth too of course.....I don't have to go far to spend money!! lol
Thanks DD. Something to look forward to next spring!

They sound ideal Karen! We have Dobbies, B&Q, Homebase, and the monthly farmers market, which sadly starts off with 1 or 2 plant vendor, then increases to about 6, but I have to say as the months go on they have some gems for sale! This Sat is the plant only market, which is only on a couple of times a year, but I have seen nurseries from France there! Also sat is the annual plant sale of the RHS, which is always worth a trip too! Oh nearly forgot the Chrysanths & Dahlia society sale is on too!

How can it be, that I am a member of RHS, read their mag every month and yet I have no knowledge whatsoever of an annual RHS plant sale....where is that Aileen?
12 May, 2011
It's only a little local one here, Karen, not a big regional one, that's why it won't be advertised in the Mag!

Oh, now I understand! :)) I was a bit cross with RHS AGAIN there for a moment! I do think they could do a bit more up here in scotland. I think we should really have our own you know Aileen.

I agree with you Karen there seems to be nothing! The Cottage Garden Society, have a contact person (Lothian & Borders) for Scotland, I think there is a group that meets too! But the good old HPS does have a Scottish section with their own journal! They attend shows, have outings all over Scotland!I have contact details for both if you'd like them!

I have thought a couple of times about joining the HPS. I must get on and do it! Thanks A! They have a website and I can download a form from there.
