I always notice the perfume from the flowers on this shrub before I see them.

When - immediately after it finishes flowering
How - I cut out completely any branch to reduce the spread. If you want to reduce the height as well, I would suggest shortening them by a third to a half.

Mine is growing in the middle of a yew hedge, so I can't see how tall it is. It throws some branches out of the hedge and flowers.

Andrew are you still growing an Enkianthus we have bought the Campanulatus I wondered how it was doing in your garden, and do you have any tips on how to get it going please..

DD - yes, I still have an enkianthus. I don't think they grow very quickly - mine is nearly nine years old and still only three feet high.

Me too, how far and when if you do!! prune these shrubs ours are getting quite large, and I do not want them taking over.....
