This should not be flowering in March!
I grow schizostylis (now renamed hesperantha) in planting baskets at the side of my pond, over-wintering them in a cold greenhouse. This winter has been so mild, this one has carried on flowering.

We grow these, but not in water, and they do very well, we have them around our tiny barrel pond.
