Stachyurus 'Magpie' - 2018

An old variety of this spring flowering shrub with variegated leaves. Will reach ten feet as a free-standing shrub, but I think it looks better wall-trained as the flowers are displayed better. Takes sun or part shade, but is difficult to establish; the newer variety 'Joy Forever' is probably easier to get started.
