I LOVED this plant! So big and beautiful. I grew them for the first time this year (2009), started from seed in Spring (Thanks Flcrazy!).

Yep, I planted the seed in egg carton 6-packs and stuck them in clear plastic zip-lock bags under lights. In two days, I had sprouts. : )

Ahhh....great ! So glad to see they did so well for you ! They really are butterfly magnets for me.

They did pretty good, but I planted them in an island bed that wasn't near my watering hose. I thought, being Mexican Sunflowers, they wouldn't need much water... they did fine, but got droopy when I didn't water regularly. The blooms were beautiful all summer until frost!

What else?
See who else is growing Tithonia rotundifolia (Mexican sunflower).
See who else has plants in genus Tithonia.
