Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon (Tragopogon pratensis (Barba Cabruna))

A wild flower only flowering in the morning hence the name, but then producing lovely seed heads, like a huge dandelion.

Haha! another name for it! tragopogon pratensis, jack-go-to-bed-at-noon, goat'sbeard, and salsify!

You'd think that you would see more of this plant as it has so many names? lol

I find that it likes to pick it's own spot... and has that huge taproot which makes purposeful seed sewing the only way to get it where you want it... One of my fav aspects of this plant is the seed head...spectacular.

I've just posted a pic of the seed head Lori...if you want to take a peep.
