A plant of small stature, growing up to three feet tall. The dark red flowers need a light background to show up. For moist soil in part shade.

It's a lot smaller than the usual ones. It came from Cally Gardens, but they are not doing mail order this year as their owner died on a plant expedition earlier in the year. Hopefully normal service will be resumed in 2018.

Not seen this Veratrum before, my sort of plant. I am growing V. nigrum, still a few years to reach its full potential.
