NEW SHOOTS

I’ve been away on my hols but before i went away i took a few more snaps……
…..Slowly but surely the meadow is starting to sprout
I was worried that because I’d used a weed killer on the area it might prevent future things from growing but that just isn’t the case. I can already see poppies and cornflowers appearing (sadly that’s where my identification runs out).
Before i left for my hols I found the left over Roundup in the shed and sprayed some on the horsetail stuff that was unfortunately coming up all over the new patio.
I heard that I needed to crush the leaves/new growth and then spray it with the weed killer.
The aim was that when I returned from my holiday i’d have a lovely tall meadow and brown shrivelled horsetail……..

I think perseverance is the key with horsetails. We had it along a neighbours fence and kept on pulling it out....it took a while but it eventually took the hint that it wasn't welcome!

.I have that dreadful horsetail it was here before me and thats over 30yrs,mostly in my driveway at the front which I can use weedkiller on,unfortunately it also comes up near my pond in back garden so I have to deal with it by hand. Do you have seasonal varieties in your meadow Haz31?....
