A Wasp Nest In My Extra Wild Garden Area :( ..............................

So sorry you suffered with this Jacque can be quite painful ..sort of occupational hazards for me esp when hedge trimming and not seen them .Mind you if some fool tried to cut your home in half .. you d be tempted to attack them !

Sorry to hear u got stung Jacque not very nice read ur blog twice missed part bout it been a nest sometimes they have to smoke them out hope u get rid of ur unwanted guests,yea need to watch cats they can recieve bad stings:~))))

The Stings have left My Lower Arm swollen Ray ? 1 bite is worse than the other it feels hot 2 touch :/ theres about a inch& ahalf between the bites so i think thats why My Arms swollen :(

no how u feel i was stung last year took a very bad reaction to it had to attend doc for a week on medication cudn`t lift my arm it was horrible shud have it checked

Oooh Jaque what a horrible thing to have happened to you.
I guess I got off lightly when I pulled an old shrub root out of the corner next to my compost heap, there is a bee's nest behind it. I soon left it and legged it into the house :~((

Get your arm checked and get the little b***ers moved.
I wouldn't care about their home. EVICT them.

Jacque have you seen the Waspinators you can get for the garden? 'Cos I am such a coward with wasps I got two of them last year and it really did make a difference. I will try to dig out the link of where I got them and send it to you.

It's different with bee's though, they are not as aggressive as wasps, are they?

No you're right Ian bees are not as nasty but I've got a bees nest at the side of the house and it still gives me the creeps when I'm passing by it. I'm just a big coward when it comes to buzzy things! LOL

Dont think so Ian ? i had a Bee Bite me once a few yra back he`d got under my quilt & id gotten into bed &he stung my Ankle :( Sting Felt worse than the 2 Wasp stings ? maybe its cos they leave sting in as Wasps dont ? :/

I do feel for you JacqueI had multiple stings from just one wasp when I was a kid and I have never liked them since, I know that there must have been a good reason for them to be on this earth ........ but I cannot think of one :o))

Be careful how you go about asking the council Jacque because ours charge if you fetch them out and I believe it can be expensive,hope you arm is better soon and stay away from that part of your garden for a while..........

OOOOOooo.....get your arm checked Jacque. I have to go on antibiotics when I get stung by a wasp as I get a cellulitis infection.

Similar thing happened to me on the farm when I picked up a tarpaulin to cover a piece of equipment. The wasps had made a nest under it. I got stung 5 times as there was no where to hide. :o(

Hope you feeling ok after your meeting with your lodgers, never been stung, but a couple of my kids did when they we're little, as the council been yet.

Sorry to hear of your nasty encounter with the wasps Jacque. I hope your arm is soon better. I'm just about to post a picture of a wasps nest I photographed while away in Worcestershire last week. I won't blame you if you don't want to look.

Sorry you had such a nasty encounter. If Council dont come out. try Wasp killer from local Garden Centre. I killed a Hornets nest last year. wrote a blog abou it. The spray sends out a long jet of white froth that sticks around the nest entrance and after two goes thaey were all killled.

Aww poor you Jacque, looking on the bright side, I suppose more could have stung you - horrible isnt it, makes me shudder.

A big stick with a hook on the end would be my answer, but then again............... :~)))

That's OK then. I've got a little spray of insect repellent and a little one of sting relief - does the vinegar work then?

Morn Dawn the Vinger did help lots & the stinging stopped after about 5mins :) Iv heard a Raw Onion does the Same ! i had some of those in fridge but Buba grabed the vinger knowing it would be quicker & nicer than slicing up a Onion lol :)

Thanks Jacque - I'll remember that - cant be too long before I get stung again :-( Just jogged my memory actually, when I got mosquito bites in Spain when I was little, my mum put vinegar on them.

This year could be the year of the wasp, we are all getting stung by our MP's these days!!, now it's the turn of the yellow coated beast's, in the last few days I have seen more and more, and today got up close to some to see what they were doing to my flower's . &^%&^$^$
