Late frosts?

The warm spell in late April had my early potatoes pushing up hopefully, just in time to be nearly caught by the near-frosts we’ve had in May so far. It’s been quite a problem for me to protect their 4×15ft bed as they are now getting too tall; fortunately I have mature trees nearby which are now leafing up, so hopefully this will protect the ground below from frosts from now on. We are on the edge of the Chilterns, but down in the Gade valley, so we usually escape the worst of the cold weather here. How have others fared?

I too hope you don't suffer too much from the late frosts. We had a hard frost this morning then a shower of hailstones. I am sick of lugging all my bedding plants in and out, feel I have been doing this for what seems like months! On a lighter note, the weather forecast said highs of 15 degrees in next few days......Yippeeeeeee! (If they get it right).....

I do hope you dont suffer too much from these late frosts. I am quite worried about some of my plants and still have so much in the greenhouse yet to bring out.
