I have a new Computer, so I am trying out for the first time. It is a present from my number two son Steuart.Number one son Paul has set it up for me, lucky me Eh! As for gardening it’s a no no now as I am in my 91st year, so my daughter Jackie ( Lady Essex1 ) is the head gardener! but I enjoy all the happenings in the garden, such as the very new pond Jackie and her husband have with much hard work made as a new feature, it is finished now with it’s water fall and fountain, it’s surrounding plants, I dare say you have seen pictures of the pond on her Blog, Jackie has just told me there are still a few more things to do, like titivating :o)

Lovely that you have a kind family to help you with it too. I hope you get a lot of pleasure from your new computer.

In your 91st year and nimble fingered around a computer - I'm impressed. My parents have just reached 80 and niether will entertain a computer so well done you.

Hi Joycee. Good to see a mature person willing to use a NEW computer. Most older people, say in their eighties, are reluctant to use the internet......yet it can be so liberating and informative too. OH is 82 and a very long term computer buff....so he has grown old with computing. A friend on Canvey was set up with a laptop and helped by her grandaughter to get started. Unfortunately her bank account was put on line and she could not get to grips with it. Something went a bit wrong and her son had a job to get it sorted out......so this has put her off until she gets on a free computer course. I do my weekly shop on line after an ankle fracture slowed me down. So nice not to go get wound up round Tescos with car parking..... loading and unloading all that stuff. I do not consider it a pleasurable social trip out, as some might do.
