Pineapple plant

I had asked a question about when my pineapple, which I raised, would be ripe. It seemed to be staying green for months. I cut it off and put it into a paper bag and set it on the porch in the Florida heat. After a week, it turned nice and golden and is ripe and ready to eat. This one took so very long to ripen up it seemed. The one I had a couple years ago ripened right on the stalk.
