my little nature garden year one :)

Just a couple of pictures of my garden that I started this spring, I am hoping to attract bees, butterflies, hoverflies, ladybirds and lacewings this year!!

On the arch I have planted honeysuckle which I am hoping will flower next season!
Under the arch I have two varieties of lavender, a rose, an iris (which I will probably move next year as nothing seemed interested in it) scabious, salvia, veronica ulster, and an ornamental grass. The scabious is covered with ladybirds at the moment!!

I also have a mini herb and veg garden to the left of the arch where i am growing chives and thyme and strawberrys and toms in pots :)
I put some dasies in pots near this area hoping to attract the bees in for pollination of the strawberrys and havent seen a single bee anywhere near them so far :/

To the left of the veg pots is my mini bug and wildflower corner where i have a small pile of logs, a ladybird house, a solitary bee house (unused :( ) and a teeny patch of earth where i just threw a pack of wild flower seeds down and hoped for the best…. the slugs and snails polished off a fair few of the seedlings BUT i have got a couple of plants that have produced some small yellow flowers (not a clue what they are!! ) but the butterflies like them at least!!
Iv also been lucky enough to have some poppies pop up at the end of the garden, donated by the birds :)

Its not much yet…. but im happy and already planning what to plant next spring !!!!

Lovely pics Ladybird, its doing well, there seem to be a lot more bees here this year so hopefully you will get some visiting you as your garden develops, they love my lavender and will no doubt find yours and the poppies...

It looks and sounds very interesting Ladybird. This year we can hardly see the Verbascum for the bees - so that could be a plant for next year.
