Shrubby honeysuckle

I’ve been cutting a lot of Shrubby Honeysuckle back, and noticed that I have two different species in my garden. At the front there is Lonicera pileata, which has quite long, pointed leaves arranged in opposite pairs along long, arching stems. In the orchard there’s Lonicera nitida, which has shorter, more rounded leaves. Both have tiny purple berries at the moment.

That's interesting. I've had nitida for years and never seen any berries on it! I must have words with it.
