Busy weekend

The weekend of the Allotment Flower and Veg show finally arrived. Of course it rained on the Friday night so my flowers were all a bit ‘drookit’ so I put them in the greenhouse until staging time. Saturday flew by running back and forward to the show hut to stage my flowers. My partner Ted took care of the veg to be staged.

Sunday morning I helped to arrange the Allotment shop for the Tombola and raffle. Also helped make up the sandwiches.

We both did rather well. Ted won the Top tray

He also won most points in the veg section and best exhibit for his big onions.

I won most points in the Dahlia section, Best Vase and a third in the Top Vase.

Next weekend is the Dundee Flower and Food Festival at Camperdown Paek here in Dundee with Monty Don and Gino D’Acampo as this years celebrities. I may enter some flowers if i have any ready. It’s been a busy week.

It was a good show Cinders. We were all a bit worried we may not get many entries because the weather hasn't been that great this year. It all turned out in the end and Ted and I will split the Thompson and Morgan vouchers between the veg and flowers for next year. Now for the big show at Camperdown this weekend. Lots of lovely plants to buy.
