we inherited part of a nieghbours garden 10 weeks ago,and decided to turn it into an allotment.once we got rid of the rubbish we noticed a vine type plant had covered 70% of the garden.we are in the process of trying to dig it out,but to no avail.(see photo) we belive it is called russian vine,we have tried weed killers recommended for the job but they seem to act like plant food to it.any help would be greatly appreciated cheers mick.

It looks like ground elder to me too, I have this too, despite all my efforts to irradicate it, it still appears, so I keep an eye out or it and try to keep on top of it, by uprooting what I see.

Oh heck it does look like ground elder, spreads like wildfire, luckily I only have it in my front which is mainly driveway so I am out there every year trying to poison the darn stuff, in thirty years I`ve never managed to kill it off completely, I even pour boiling salted water on the granite, works out cheaper than the weedkillers as I haven`t yet found one strong enough to cope.........

im sure it feeds on the weedkiller,i managed to get rid of some but only because I made the weedkiller at triple strength, and now it doesnt work so i dig and dig a bit more
