well today i have planted some seeds. giant sunflowers, black magic sunflowers and in the mist. never really dealt with seeds before so time will tell. i have put the giant sunflowers in different places, pots shaded and full sun so will see what happens. fingers crossed.
on a plus note the plates i put out last week seem to be doing well.
over the weekend i also added bare roots of white striped bamboo just hope they take. i brought them off ebay but for some reason ebay have since removed the listing. hope they grow

the black sunflower seeds on the window sill have come through lovely. nothing happening with the ones outside yet but still early days.

I don't know about Staffordshire but here in Kamloops it will be about another 4 weeks before anything much will happen outside. I usually put in my sunflower seeds in the May long weekend (Our Victoria Day) which is the weekend of the 18th. That is also the weekend which is supposedly past the last frost date.....this spring has been so cold though I'm not sure about that.

they not ready yet.they will need to be potted on soon though

They'll come up when the weather warms (unless a mouse or bird has come across them). Sunflowers are one of those seeds that will pop up through thick and thin. :o)

my sunflowers and in the mist flowers have come through cant wait to see them in flower. black sunflowers are coming along nicely and have been potted on. soon be able to put them outside. im quite exited ive never bothered with seeds before as im normally to inpatient lol.

I've stretched myself to new limits with seeds this year. I've been trying all sorts of things that are more challenging to grow. Mostly I've had fairly good success....you never know until you try.!! :o)

Your sunflowers should be lovely. They are so easy to grow from seed you should have no problems. They will need to be in full sun.
I would love to see photos of your Black Magic sunflowers when they bloom. I've never seen them before.
