A happy garden

It’s been a while since my last blog and to be honest I’ve not had to do anything in the garden other than enjoy it! Last weekend was glorious weather and we had friends round for a barbecue, the menu included a home grown tomato salad which tasted fantastic!

We sat outside until late, well past being able to photograph the garden (I thought); it was probably around midnight when we spotted this grasshopper walking on the rim of a storm candle.

With nothing to work on in the garden I went out briefly this afternoon to take a few photos and managed to catch this bee on the lavender. Not sure whose garden it arrived from but you can see tiny spots of yellow pollen on its back.

I also really like the way the tomatoes look at the moment; each branch has red at the top going to orange and then green. One above the other they create layers of little tomato rainbows.

Everything is ticking along fine, I just wanted to have a little blog :o)

What a difference in your tomatoes since you last showed us! How are the courgettes doing? Loved the photo of the bee on the lavender!

Hi Spritz, They're looking good aren't they, and this is after a small harvest too!
I think I must have different coloured fingers, some are a deep lush green (which I use on the tomatoes) whereas others are clearly black as pitch and filled with doom (these are reserved for the courgettes).

I told a little porky at the top of the blog and instead of loafing I should really have been nursing the courgettes back to health. Unfortunately I wasn't and I'm sorry to report the demise of my long suffering courgette plants. Next year :o)
